  • 1974-1979 Charles University, Faculty of Science, Prague, Czechoslovakia. Degree in chemistry (specialization: biochemistry) (RNDr., equivalent of M.Sc.).
  • 1979-1982 Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences; postgraduate studies. Dissertation thesis: “Auxin binding sites in tobacco cell culture and wheat seedlings”
  • 1983 Candidate of science degree (CSc. - equivalent to Ph.D.) in biology (specialization: plant physiology).

  • 1982-1983: Institute of Experimental Botany, Cs. Acad. Sci. (IEB) in Prague, assistant-researcher.

  • 1985-1987: Scientist at the IEB: Auxin and auxin receptors in relation to development of plant cells (tobacco cell cultures) and plant organs (coleoptiles and primary leaves of wheat).

  • Since 1989: Scientist at the IEB (since 1993 of the Czech Academy of Sciences, CAS), Prague: Co-action of auxins and cytokinins at control of plant cell development, auxin and cytokinin metabolisms and signalling, molecular mechanisms of auxin and cytokinin translocation across membranes in plant cells. 
  • Since 1997: Member of Laboratory of Hormonal Regulations in Plants of the IEB, head of the group focused on molecular mechanisms of auxin and cytokinin action and transport in plant cells.
  • 2001-2012: Part-time contract (10-25%) at the Department of Plant Physiology (now Department of Experimental Plant Biology), Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague – scientist, from 2005 associate professor.
