Profesor Pavel Hobza obdržel prestižní Schrödingerovu medaili

Člen Učené společnosti prof. Pavel Hobza převzal 30. srpna 2017 Schrödingerovu medaili, nejvyšší ocenění od Světové organizace teoretických chemiků WATOC. Toto významné ocenění obdržel za svou excelentní práci o nekovalentních interakcích. Z jeho úspěchů je přitom známý zejména objev nepravé vodíkové vazby. Pavel Hobza také prokázal, že patrové interakce řízené jedním typem nekovalentních interakcí, tzv. disperzní energie, jsou zodpovědné za strukturu DNA.

Učená společnost pořádala ve dnech 15. 5. a 16. 5. 2017 své XXIII. valné shromáždění. Na slavnostní části v Karolinu 15. 5. 2017 udělila medaile a ceny Učené společnosti (PDF, 79 kB).
