Úmrtí člena prof. Jana Svobody

V pondělí 13. března 2017 zemřel ve věku 82 let zakládající člen Učené společnosti biolog prof. Jan Svoboda. Zabýval se výzkumem tzv. retrovirů (některé způsobují nádory nebo jiná závažná onemocnění, jako např. AIDS) a jejich vztahy s hostitelskými buňkami.

Přední matematik světového formátu, nositel Fieldsovy medaile a mnoha dalších ocenění, profesor Cedric Villani, ředitel Institutu Henri-Poincaré v Paříži a profesor univerzity Claude Bernarda v Lyonu, navštíví na pozvání Učené společnosti ČR ve čtvrtek 13. dubna 2017 Prahu. Profesor Villani pronese dvě přednášky.
